Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois Cash for Kids’ Sake Raffle Rules

  1. Raffle tickets are $100 each.
  2. Maximum of 2,500 tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. The odds of winning are dependent on the number of tickets sold. If all 2,500 tickets are sold, the odds of winning are 40 in 2,500.
  4. Each ticket shall be sequentially numbered from the first ticket sold through the last ticket number sold.
  5. The raffle period shall be from November 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021 or such earlier date as the maximum number of tickets is sold.
  6. If 2,000 or more tickets are sold, all prizes will be awarded as advertised. If fewer than 2,000 tickets are sold, the Early Bird will be awarded as advertised and the remaining prize payouts will be adjusted based on percentage of ticket sales.  For example, if 1,500 tickets are sold of 2,500 total = 60%, then 60% of the value of all advertised prizes will be awarded to the remaining 39 winners.
  7. Drawing will be held as soon as the tickets have sold out or on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 1 pm from among all tickets sold on or before 11:59:59 p.m. Central Time on January 31st, 2021.
  8. Winner need not be present at drawing to win.
  9. Purchasers must be 18 years of age or older.
  10. Winner is entirely and solely responsible for all taxes. Please consult with your own tax advisor.
  11. Board and staff members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois (BBBSCIL) and their immediate families are eligible.
  12. The raffle is being conducted by an independent party, Steve Chitwood, CPA., under a license issued to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois and will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois.
  13. By submitting an entry, each purchaser acknowledges having read and agrees to be unconditionally bound by these rules. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois reserves the right to disqualify entries deemed invalid for any rules violation or material defect which renders the awarding of the prize improper, illegal or practically unfeasible.
  14. All personal information collected by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois will be used for the administration of the raffle only and such information will not be shared or otherwise distributed except as necessary to conduct the raffle.
  15. Once a ticket is purchased it is non-refundable except in the event the raffle is canceled.
  16. Any one individual can purchase a ticket, or any number of individuals can join in the purchase of a ticket. Participants in a group entry must identify a single person as the individual to whom a prize will be awarded by BBBS. That name only must be listed as the entrant on the front of the ticket and will be deemed the holder of the ticket (the “Ticket Holder”).  If the name of more than one person is provided on a ticket purchase, then the person whose name is listed first on the ticket purchase will be deemed the Ticket Holder. The division of any prize among two or more persons jointly purchasing a ticket shall be the sole responsibility of such persons.  BBBSCIL is not responsible for resolving any claims or disputes that may arise from or among the different individuals jointly purchasing a ticket.
  17. Early Bird Drawing: An Early Bird Drawing for a $5,000 prize will be held on December 15th, 2020 from among all tickets sold on or before 11:59:59 p.m. Central Time on December 14th, 2020.  The winner of the Early Bird drawing will still be entered for the First Prize and remaining prize drawings.
  18. Winners will be selected at random. For each drawing, prizes with the highest retail value will be drawn first progressing in order to the lowest retail value prize for the drawing.
  19. All federal, state and local laws and regulations shall apply to the raffle.
  20. Ticket purchase deadlines, and drawing dates, times and locations, may be extended or changed at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois’ discretion.
  21. The holders of the winning ticket shall be notified by telephone and/or e-mail and Certified U.S. Mail at the address provided by the purchaser. The winning ticket number and name of the winner and their respective cities (but not addresses) shall also be placed on the BBBSCIL website and social media immediately after the drawing. This information may also be publicized in other media. If a winning entrant cannot be located or fails to respond to good-faith attempts to contact the winning entrant by 4:30 p.m., thirty (30) days after the drawing, the raffle prize will be deemed forfeited and retained by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois.
  22. The winner of the drawing shall be required to provide the BBBSCIL with a signed statement confirming their eligibility under these Rules and applicable law, proof of age and social security number, and a release confirming permission to use the winner's name, city, state, and likeness in media releases and other publicity. Each winner of a minimum of $600 will receive a Form 1099 for income tax purposes.
  23. Purchasers of tickets, by participating in the raffle, release Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois, its directors, officers, members and agents from any and all liability, loss or claim arising out of any raffle prize, expressly waive any such claim and agree that the liability, if any, including for defective printing, lost or misdirected proceeds of sale or any other failure of performance of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois, its directors, officers, members and agents shall be limited to the raffle ticket price paid. In case of any dispute regarding the conduct of the raffle, the decision of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois shall be final.
